A simple mobile piece of kit with a decent microphone would do the work I think, but which one for lowest cost? Alternatively I could use an ipad but would that complicate the issue? For stand alone recording I use an Olympus LS10 which has been superceeded now. It's the one you see all the newshounds thrusting under so called celebrity noses.
