denisb
Hello, when we use mp3 audio clip, we must use CBR (Constant BitRate) mp3 and not VBR (Variable BitRate) mp3.If we use OGG Vorbis audio clip, Audacity don't give us the choice CBR. So OGG Vorbis files, made by Audacity, are only VBR.Is it correct to use VBR ogg vorbis audio clip or not ?Denis
cjdnzl
Ogg Vorbis is by design variable bitrate with no apparent capability to use constant bitrate. Can you not load an OV audio file into a PTE test run and observe what happens? Or am I misunderstanding your query?
denisb
What is not clear for me is PTE and variable bitrate audio clip:Why is it written that CBR is better than VBR for mp3 ?When I use VBR mp3, or VBR ogg Vorbis, it seems to work correctly. For example, I use directly an mp3 VBR audio clip from Jamendo.com, It works fine, and I don't want to transform it in CBR just to follow recommendations, if PTE has no problem with it.Is the problem only with some mp3 codec ?For other mp3 codecs, and Ogg Vorbis,... it worksI think it would be interesting to know what to do:Normally, use VBR andtransform in CBR only when there are problems ?Denis
Tonton Bruno
Presently, we can use for PTE the following audio files:WAV filesMP3 constant bitrate filesMP3 variable bitrate filesOGG Vorbis Variable bitrate filesAll these types of files run correctly under PTE.If we use the default option for exe generation, all these audio files are included in the exe file in their original format, with no modification.PTE is also able to generate a MP3 file mixing all the audio clips used in a project. This MP3 file uses only Constant bitrate. Many users think that it would be great to have the possibility to generate an OGG file instead of the MP3 file, because generally, OGG files sound better. Igor
Denis,PicturesToExe supports MP3 files with CBR and VBR.Some very rare MP3 files with VBR may play incorrectly (synchronization issues).
