Video clip sound

I am putting in a short video clip between slides , as the sound from the video clip does not appear on the timeline is there a method of fading in and out the sound from the video clip to the sound for the slides ? I have seen that you can mute the sound from the video but I want to use it.

P.S. if you add your video clip as the First Slide and add its audio using the above method you can LINK the audio to its slide using the right click menu in Timeline View. Then, when you re-position the slide, its audio will automatically sync to the slide.
