Lin Evans
Hi Roy, PTE uses Windows to make a native Mac Executable file. Of course it also creates video files which run on a MacIntosh as well as on Window's PC's and various tablet and phone devices. Our users who have MacIntosh run various programs such as bootcamp, VMware Fusion, etc. to run PTE on their machines. In the future, there will be a dedicated MacIntosh version but it will be a while. Until then, it works perfectly using programs which permit Windows programs to run in a Mac environment. You may download a free trial version as well as purchase the product here: http://www.wnsoft.com Best regards, Lin
Roy Leonard
Thanks Lin, I will bear that in mind. I also assume that the same criteria applies to all the old av exe files made on my Windows pc. Regards, Roy.
Lin Evans
If you have the PTE file (filename.pte) and associated image files and sound files used to create them, then any previously created exe AV file can be output by current versions of PicturesToExe in native Mac exe format as well as in AVI or MP4, etc. Best regards, Lin
Picsel
PTE v9 is expected to be MAC compatible, but in the time between, does it make sense, for those who want to work with PTE, to buy VM softwares + Windows license just for a while? Some of our club members have exactly the same problem as Roy. Several years ago I remember to run an old PTE version with Wine, installed on my son's PC working under Linux. I would like to know if some PTE forum members have already tested PTE on MAC via a software such as CrossOver (around 50$) or PlayOnMac (free) which are both derived of Wine project. Thanks in advance for your feedbacks on this subject Daniel
Igor
Sorry, we didn't announce PicturesToExe 9.0 for Mac. Version 9.0 is only for PC. It can be used on Mac with VMWare or Parallels Desktop. Also as earlier version 9.0 can produce executable files for Mac. In version 9.0 we only wrote the cross-platform code for future Mac version.
