Hi There.....I am just researching Pictures to Exe with a view to buying one of the 2 versions available. I am operating 2 IMACS - one mainly for photographic images and the other partly as a backup but also as a picture manipulator using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom 5. If I download Pictures to Exe to one machine will I be able to also download to the other ? This is quite important to me as I like to have cover in case of a problem with either machine.

Thanks in anticipation

Thanks a lot for that Dave..........unless it's my imagination thats not made clear by the developers, unless I totally mi-read it..............you just saved me £59 !......in the meantime I do need some software that works on my mac........if I were to use a Windows simulation is anything recommended. I used to work on a PC and I have an excellent copy of Pro-Show Producer ( sorry if thats a dirty word to Pictures to Exe men ) ....can I assume if I installed a windows simulator I would be able to use my own copy of PSP ?

Your help is very much appreciated

thanks

Hi John,

The important difference with PTE is that it creates native MacIntosh executable code as well as PC executable code and a number of video formats, etc. There are many things that PTE can do which Producer can not do. Whether or not these are things which are important to your own use is another issue entirely. You can run both Producer and PTE under Bootcamp or Fusion or several other solutions. The developers are working on a full MacIntosh version of PTE but it is not ready and probably won't be for some time. AFAIK, there are no plans at all to create a MacIntosh version of Producer.

Perhaps the confusion is because PTE, unlike Producer can create native Mac executable files. The difference between executable code and video code is many times quite striking because native code runs at 60 frames per second and animation is butter smooth. In general, video at 60 fps is not well supported yet, although in the few places where it is, it works quite well. PTE can generate 60 fps video - I don't know whether or not that's possible with Producer but I don't believe it is.

Best regards,

Lin

Thanks a lot Lin..........maybe I'll sleep on it and re-consider whether or not I really need to do AV productions. It seems a lot of time and effort for something that I am unsure about whether to commit to or not.

Thanks anyway to everyone
