arterial
When I import a video clip created in Moviemaker into P2E the aspect ratio changes from 4:3 to 16:9. Optimisation makes no difference. How can I prevent this from happening? Thank you for your help
Lin Evans
Project Options - Main Tab - What is your aspect ratio set for? The "default" which can be changed, is 16:9 Best regards, Lin
arterial
Hi Lin It is set to 4:3. What is puzzling when I i open the file list the thumbnail is in a widescreen format, but not when viewed in File Explorer. Baffled. The video plays in 4:3 in VLC! Thanks Alistair
Lin Evans
Best to let Igor have a look at it - If you could zip the video and post a link, we can try to sort out what's happening. It's "possible" that PTE is trying to set the aspect ratio to whatever the original aspect ratio of the video was. I've experienced some distortion with videos which were originally 16:9 but changed to 4:3. They play normally in some players but not in others and not in PTE. If we can get copy of the video for the development team to look at, perhaps a solution can be found. If there is no distortion in the video, just black on either side, it can easily be constrained in a mask to eliminate the black on either side, Once in a mask it can be resized as needed without affecting the integrity or aspect ratio. arterial
Hi Lin Thanks for your help. I am going to have to come back to this as I am running out of time on the project I am working on. Cheers Alistair
davegee
A simple "screen shot" might help others to visualise the problem. Change the mode from "fit" to "cover". Does that help? DG
