peterf Posted April 15, 2017 Report Posted April 15, 2017 In Version 9 I cannot find the "Save and use by default" as described in the "Add a text object". This is shown in the Version 9 "how to", and was in previous versions, but seems to have disappeared in version 9. Any help? Thanks Quote
nobeefstu Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 peterf, Igor has suggested future plans to create expanded text features. The idea of a text effect component would offer various options to control and manipulate text objects and include other necessary text properties, settings, and presets. Quote
peterf Posted April 16, 2017 Author Report Posted April 16, 2017 So is this a bug or deliberate downgrade to facilities. Quote
Lin Evans Posted April 16, 2017 Report Posted April 16, 2017 Actually it's neither. That feature sadly wouldn't work with the new software implementation and hopefully there will be a solution with the next version of PTE. The entire program was rewritten in a language compatible with both Windows and MacIntosh for the future cross-platform plans. That feature could not be implemented but developers are looking for a way to perhaps improve on the original for future versions. Best regards, Lin Quote
peterf Posted April 16, 2017 Author Report Posted April 16, 2017 Thanks Lin, an answer I could understand. I did notice that when you add text, by scrolling up(!) you can see the last used which is a workaround. If you have already changed the font, the last used list is at the top. Strange. Peter Quote
Lin Evans Posted April 17, 2017 Report Posted April 17, 2017 Another work-around is if you have a different text font you want to use extensively in your show, you can use PTE 8.0 to do the text portion then load the file into PTE 9 to use any of the features not available in version 8. PTE is backwardly compatible in that you can use any PTE 8 show's file in PTE 9, but not the other way around. Best regards, Lin Quote
Igor Posted April 17, 2017 Report Posted April 17, 2017 I understand your question. We planned to rework this feature for the new editor of animation in PicturesToExe 9. But I couldn't find better variant. The old code was not compatible with the new editor. Please give us time to implement this feature in the next version. Quote
peterf Posted April 17, 2017 Author Report Posted April 17, 2017 Thanks for the reply. I think I can live with the last used list of fonts, now that I've learned to scroll up. Am I right to assume we will have to wait for version 10 for the new features? Quote
