denisb Posted January 5, 2018 Report Posted January 5, 2018 Hi, we observe some problem during some customs transitions on laptops with Intel and Nvidia graphic cards. The custom transition is not correct. If we right+click and select Nvidia card, the slideshow is good. If, like a "Normal user", we just double+click on the exe, the custom transition is different and not correct. This occur on exe made some years ago with PTE8 and recent exe made with PTE9, but only with custom transitions including file. Maybe it is possible that the exe first tell the graphic card driver to use Nvidia card and not Intel graphic card (https://developer.nvidia.com/optimus) Denis Quote
Igor Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Denis, Thanks, we'll check next week. Quote
Igor Posted January 12, 2018 Report Posted January 12, 2018 Denis, Can you tell me in more details: 1. Model name of your laptop, CPU and both video cards (Intel & NVIDIA). Is it old or new laptop? 2. Version of Windows (7, 8, or 10) ? 3. Screenshot where I can see wrong result. 4. Sample project (EXE + source project) where I can reproduce this problem. Thanks in advance, The problem with Intel graphics occured with old computers (before 2009 year) if Intel graphics has 64 MB of video memory and didn't fully support DirectX 9. I remember about the issue with selecting fast video card (NVIDIA/AMD instead of Intel) in a laptop. We're still working on it. P.S. Sorry for the late response. Quote
denisb Posted January 12, 2018 Author Report Posted January 12, 2018 Hi, we test on 3 recent labtop with he same problem. as an example : core I7 16 Go de mémoire Nvidia Gtx 1060 4 GB GDDR5 Intel HD Graphic 630 Windows 10 You can see the slideshow here: http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=41266 And the picture when the custom transition occur. (it use non-animated GIF picture) This transition is available : http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=40791 Denis Quote
denisb Posted January 12, 2018 Author Report Posted January 12, 2018 Hi Igor, a simple project and a copy of the screen. Denis Test_Jan12-2018_11-13-44.zip Quote
Igor Posted January 12, 2018 Report Posted January 12, 2018 Denis, I can't reproduce this problem on Intel HD Graphics 5300 (Lenovo Yoga 2). You used an interesting technique to create effect in this custom transition. Image object in a mask stencil is very distorted and has huge visual size. Probably Intel graphics incorrectly works with these values. We don't remember any similar problem already 10 years. Why not try more simple solution for this effect? Look at attached files. I used 2 Rectangle objects with adjusted Center parameters and Pan animation as Mask stencil. Do you see same problem with other custom transitions? Igor_variant.pteeff Test.pte Quote
Igor Posted January 12, 2018 Report Posted January 12, 2018 Denis, It seems that these Intel video card have a serious problem. Your object has a visual size which much larger than a screen. And I think that Intel drivers incorrectly "think" that object should not be shown. Quote
denisb Posted January 12, 2018 Author Report Posted January 12, 2018 Igor, I show you a simplify custom transition. I know with PTE9 I can use rectangles, but I made these kind of Custom transitions 4 years ago with PTE8 The complete transition is a gates and page and you can change the position of the beginning, or the end and the angle of the transition. See http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=40791 Sorry, the explanation is in French but with the video, you can understand. Some transitions I made 4 years ago had problem http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=38117 http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=38236 Transitions 30 107 108 109 had the same problem with these video cards. Igor Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Denis, Does this problem occur if you copy same objets from a custom transition to an usual slide? I still can't reproduce this proble, I checked on a laptop with Intel Core M CPU (Lenovog Yoga 2) and on iMac 4K Retina with Windows 10 and Intel Iris Pro 6200 graphics. We think that this problem is related with incorrect work of certain Intel video card with highest values of screen coordinates. 50'000% in this case for Pan X. Quote
denisb Posted January 17, 2018 Author Report Posted January 17, 2018 Yes Igor, this problem occur when I make the transition into a normal slide. http://diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=40146 30000% was used by JPD in January 2009 with PTE 5.6: http://www.diapositif.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=32829 Could you force Nvidia graphic card when Intel and Nvidia are present ? ( see my first post) NB: for these transitions, I have another solution for other transition, I have not other possibility than make a important zoom (say 10000%) Denis Quote
Igor Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Denis, Right now I'm trying to apply the new code for PTE to force use fast NVIDIA/AMD card instead of Intel. Please wait for the updated version. Quote
Igor Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Denis, Please try new test version - PTE 9.0.15 BETA https://files.wnsoft.com/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe Now PicturesToExe 9 (main window) and created EXE files should work on fast dedicated video card in laptops with dual graphics. Currently it works for Intel + NVIDIA video cards. We didn't check for Intel + AMD / AMD + AMD video cards. Quote

Igor, I was hoping that the PTE 9.0.15 update would solve my problem of the jerky playing of video clips in my exe PTE shows. But it does not. As I stated in my previous postings, my laptop has the Intel HD 4600 card and the added Nvidia GT740M. When I play the exe show with the video clips with the new 9.0.15, both cards show up in the Task Manager's Performance. The 4600 shows about 1% - 10% and the GT740M shows about 50% - 60% as the show plays. From what I expected was that the 4600 would not show up at all and only the GT740M would be doing the video processing. Should this be happening or not? Gary Quote
Igor Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Gary, This update doesn't affect to playback of video clips in EXE shows. (we hope to improve it in future major version). However smoothness of animations (images) should be much better on laptops with dual video cards. Quote

Oh..so you meant the process of creating the exe (Publish) will be faster...not the playing of the exe? I'm confused: You just posted: Posted in General Discussion Hi, If you have a laptop with dual graphics card (Intel + NVIDIA) please try a new test version of PicturesToExe 9.0.15 BETA: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/picturestoexe-setup.exe It should greatly improve smoothness of animations. Because this update automatically forces PTE 9 to use dedicated NVIDIA video card instead of slow Intel video card. This improvement affects: - Preview in the main window of PTE 9; - Objects and animation editor. - Playback of EXE shows. Now you are saying 'Playback of EXE shows' will be improved. Confused. Or do you mean that only the playback of video clips in exes will not be improved? Thanks... Gary Quote
Igor Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Gary, Animation in PTE 9 (and created EXE files) works better (smoother) on faster video card. Now PTE 9 uses NVIDIA video card by default on laptops with dual graphics (Intel + NVIDIA). So you should observe more smooth animations in PTE shows on these laptops. Quote
denisb Posted January 20, 2018 Author Report Posted January 20, 2018 Hi Igor, Two exe with problems are now excellent with this new 9.0.15. The custom transitions are fluid. Congratulations for this new improvement. Denis Quote
