jmG-06100 Posted December 13, 2018 Report Posted December 13, 2018 Hi, Igor! After visiting: International Forums > Français https://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/forum/66-fran%C3%A7ais/ I feel that some other web sites, in French, should be added to the short list. (1) <<LE SITE DU DCcn [ Diaporama Créatif court et numérique ]>> http://sitedudccn.com/ It offers, after subscribing (for free), many resources related to PicturesToExe, such as: - A manual on the use of PTE-9, by Laure Gigou (128 pages) ("Réalisation d'un DCcn avec le logiciel PicturesToExe Version 9") http://sitedudccn.com/AIDES/Tutoriel_Pte9.pdf - A tutorial on how to transform an idea into a slide show ("De l'Idée au Diaporama") http://sitedudccn.com/DOCUMENTS/De_l_idee_au_diaporama.pdf - nearly 700 examples of high quality slideshows, all of which have been competing in some sort of event where they were shown on huge screens to a jury and an audience. (2) <<Le site des utilisateurs de PicturesToExe>> http://diapositif.net/ It is another forum with many tutorials (from French experts, some of whom also post on this web site) . There is a section open for discussion on semi-finished slideshows ("maquettes"), and other goodies. Quote
Bert Posted December 13, 2018 Report Posted December 13, 2018 Does anyone know a method to automatically translate these sites, instead of going thru Google one page at the time? Quote
Lin Evans Posted December 13, 2018 Report Posted December 13, 2018 Hi Bert, Go to translate.google.com and enter the URL - it will translate the entire website Lin Quote
Bert Posted December 13, 2018 Report Posted December 13, 2018 Hi Lin, Yes, it translates the website but not the PDF's when you download them. You still have to go page by page for those. Bert Quote
lacogada Posted December 14, 2018 Report Posted December 14, 2018 I downloaded the tutorial but my reader will not open it ... claims it not pdf. Quote

I'm not sure what the problem is ... possibly because it is French ? I had thought about splitting it into smaller chunks and there are a few online converters that would translate it, if it were smaller. Quote
chanfi22 Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 No idea about your problem. And as you I use PDF Xchange Viewer (version 2. Build 197.0). Did you tried with another one PDF viewer? Quote
jmG-06100 Posted December 15, 2018 Author Report Posted December 15, 2018 Indeed, why not use Adobe Acrobat Reader? Did the download complete properly? Not quite, as the file size is 44.0 MB, i.e. 45 095 kB. You need to downloadd again the full file, I believe. Quote

Had not noticed I had a smaller file size ... after downloading again it opened. Thanks! Now I'll see about making it smaller to translate. Quote
lacogada Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 Found website that would allow files to translate up to 10 mb. Was going to split the tutorial into 5 files of 26 pages each, hoping to cut down file size. Split easy enough but it kept the same file size for some reason. Quote

Maybe the Spilt is only apparent and the other part of the text remains hidden in some way; useful for printing purposes, I suppose, to extract the part of text to be printed and exclude the rest. Not sure, though! Let us know how the translation goes. I found the tutorial quite useful, as the music or sound track is created first, then the images added to it ; that is the opposite of my current practice as I start putting my images together (I like my photos!) and then wonder how to put a sound track to go along. lacogada Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 I've posted a question on the PDF XChange forum. Will update. Quote
lacogada Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 Reply from forum was that I needed editor version to run a "save as optimized" ... to get file size down . My ver 4 does have that feature, would need to upgrade to ver 7. Helpful member on the xchange forum had me send him the file so he could run the "optimze" feature on my 45mb file. Only reduced to 38mb. So translating this file is no longer in the works ... not with the tools I have. Quote

Thanks for the links to the new French resources about PicturesToExe! I'm very grateful to people who created this website and tutorials. I added a new post here: https://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/forum/66-français/ And I added 2 links on WnSoft website:https://www.wnsoft.com/fr/picturestoexe/help/ If it's necessary to correct the captions, please let me know. jmG-06100 Posted January 8, 2019 Author Report Posted January 8, 2019 Great, it's perfect. Thank you Igor for finding time for this amongst your PTE-10 development (You stay on the Watch, even on Sunday). * Another great source of free video Tutorials, in French, by Gabriel Mermet-Bouvier, can be found at: http://www.vivelediaporama.com/Joomla/index.php/tutoriels He calls PicturesToExe "the" software for creating "diaporamas" (audio-video slide shows), you'll be glad to know. Unfortunately these tutorials are related to the use of the previous version 8 of PTE, though 90% apply directly to PTE-9 as well. He has changed the title of the site from "Vive le Diaporama" to "Vive la Photo et le Diaporama" and claims that he will not update the tutorials on PTE but rather deal only with the photographic aspects and the post-processing of image files (use of the Nik collection, etc.). >> * Specifically for PTE, here is the table of contents for the eleven chapters (about 10 hours in total), that you may wish to post a Link to (with a short introduction text, in French, that follows): http://www.vivelediaporama.com/Joomla/index.php/tutoriels/le-diaporama <<Gabriel Mermet-Bouvier a réalisé un ensemble de tutos, en vidéo pour la plupart relatifs à des logiciels de traitement de l'image, ainsi qu'une formation complète à PTE 8 (PicturesToExe), le logiciel de réalisation de diaporama. >> Quote
