Ian Cartwright
Hello,I hope you can explain why my shows flicker when fading to and from landscape images but are smooth between portrait images on my Fujitsu-Siemens 15 inch lap-top. When a second 19 inch CRT monitor is attached everything runs smoothly. Thanks.Ian C.

FarleyBen
Ian,I know this comment won't help you, but, I have the same lap top I presume "Amilo" and a 19" monitor attached. I am not experiencing any problems with landscape slideshows on either display.Regards,Trev C
Ian Cartwright
Hi Igor,I have been using 4.2. Do I need to re-do old shows for the new software to make a difference?Ian C.
Igor
Portrait photos are smaller than landscape photos. Fade effect in PTE contains optimization and it processes only necessary parts of screen which should be changed. So it save CPU time and doesn't process alike background, for example.v4.30 beta has an additional optimizations for the Fade effect by default and it works in 2 times more smooth. You can turn on this optimization and in v4.20. Open apr.ini file and add the next string after word pte_SoundInitDir=opt_FastFade=1Then run PTE again. You will need to rebuild old slide-shows if you want to have this more smooth Fade effect on. Ian Cartwright
Hi Igor,Thanks for the advice. I have already upgraded to the 4.3 beta version and my first show is very smooth. I am impressed by the light box sorting facility. I was going to request this, but didn't get round to it. Well done. It looks very nice as well as does the job. When showing the shows to my wedding and portrait clients, I have then been opening up the images in Fotostation which enables me to tag the preferred images and later view just those. I can also tile up to 8 images for comparison. I wonder whether this is something you might consider for your program?Keep up the good work.Ian C.
