scooley
Anyone have an idea of how long it takes to burn a slideshow avi to DVD? I'm using Roxio DVD builder and so far it's been over 90 minutes. The avi file is 481,000 KB. The disk burning program indicates the DVD file size at 3.3 gig. I'm getting sleepy, sleepy... jongru2
Hi Scooley,I just burned a 2.8 GB P2E converted file. I also used the Roxio Version 7 accessing the DVD Buider stubs. I burn the highest quality parameters and it takes me between 95 and 180 minutes to complete. But when you see the finished DVD on the tv it would have been worth the wait.Hope this helps....jongru

scooley
Thanks guys. This was my first attempt to burn a DVD (the file was too large for a VCD) and it took about 2 hours. I prepped the .pte file with version 4.20 and then used 4.30 beta 1 to create the .avi file. I just purchased Easy Medial Creator 7 and test burned the DVD on +RW media just in case something went wrong so I wouldn't waste a DVD. The end result was pretty good. I didn't do anything in DVD Builder except put the .avi file in position 1 and burn.My next attempt will be to dress up the DVD with menus and multiple chapters. The test I made was of a wedding containing 1025 image with music. The slideshow is 46 minutes duration. PTE = 162 KB EXE = 182.357 MB AVI = 481.357 MBDVD = 3.04 GBLooks like I just about used all my DVD space!
