Guest Techman1
All,I hope everyone is doing well! I am looking for an AVI file (or similar video type file) that has a curtain opening where I can embed a title or something behind it as an introduction to a show I'm working on.I plan to create a custom introduction and then add my PTE Slideshow AVI files into the middle and then end with a custom ending. If anyone has any knowledge of where I can find one I would appreciate it greatly. I've done some searches on the internet, but nothing seems to be what I need. Thanks in advance for your help and/or direction.Fred
Ken Cox
Fred the readme info from a kids song disk i have from Win 3/win95 days -- it uses a curtain effect like what was used at the movie theatres back in the '50's maybe you might pick up a disk at a flea market/yard saledoes not really like winxp format -- runs in dos mode i think:( -- i have no idea how you would extract the the curtains --- 3-4 years ago the were some shows posted that had some unique opening effects -- will have to go thru my archive's-- members names that are getting my thought process going - Hans, NoBeefstu and a german fella - Rudy? had a juke box effect -- Maybe Guido or other old members might chime in here kenDr.T's Sing-A-Long SeriesCopyright © 1993 - 1995 by Dr.T's Music Software, Inc. Ken Cox
Fred , the show i was thinking of was made byRudi ReinboldMunich, January 1st, 2003RudiRe, Munich, Germanyand the curtains i thought were there were not but it was creative show and received much praise Rudi may be able to help you in your questRudiReinbold@aol.comhope this is some helpkenStart the JUKEBOX by doubleclicking the Jukebox.exe.After that, it will take about thirty seconds untilthe JUKEBOX has fully loaded and will start, maybe a bit more or less, depending upon yourspecific computer setup. The faster your CPU and the more RAM you have, the faster the JUKEBOX will load.IMPORTANT:Only doubleclick the JUKEBOX.EXE once. Otherwise, severalinstances get loaded, which puts quite some burden upon yourcomputer and it will take even longer to load. While loading,it seems, as if nothing happens. So don't get impatient. It loads. You shouldn't be doing anything else with your computer, while the Jukebox is loading. After loading, you will have 50 compositions from SCOTT JOPLINat hand, which you can select in an interactive, jukeboxlike surface, together with infos about Scott Joplin and much more................Have fun,Rudi ReinboldMunich, January 1st, 2003RudiRe, Munich, Germany
Guest Techman1
Ken,Thank you, I'll look into these. In the mean time if anyone else has any ideas or a site where I might download an AVI file with something like curtains opening (or closing) that would be great. I'm going to be out for a few days, so if I don't respond please understand. Thank you again for any more ideas that may come along.Fred
Ken Cox
Ralph Smith [RALVIS]is big in the flash category -- he might have a trick or two for youken
Guest Techman1
Thanks again Ken, maybe Ralph will be watching and can offer some tricks. Flash would be fine also. I'll keep looking and see what I can come up with. Worst case, I'll find some curtains and video tape them opening. I tried to find Ralvis's Looney Tune slideshow that was referenced in this site, but I suspect that it has been archived off already. Wasn't sure if this had any special effects like what I am looking for.Anyway, thank you again Ken for helping. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.Fred

Guest Techman1
Ken,Thank you again for looking for me. The site that you mentioned did in fact at least give me some ideas as to how I might just create this myself. I appreciate you trying to find a solution for me.Take care!Fred
Ken Cox
Fredas soon as i seen Lin's curatinshttp://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4586 i thought of this thread ken
Guest Techman1
Thanks Ken!That's what I thought about too when I saw it. I appreciate you bringing this up though in case I missed it. The curtain opening effect that I created previously was using Adobe Premiere, but PTE will definately be used in any upcoming projects that require this effect.I hope all is well for you. Take care!Fred
