jkb Posted October 17, 2019 Report Posted October 17, 2019 Hi Raymond, I have tried your test file & the music level is consistent throughout. It does not change when the voice comment comes in. Not sure what settings could cause this problem on your desktop, but make sure all other input sounds are muted, such as Microphone, Line in etc. Hopefully you will have the following on your desktop. Right click on Speaker icon at the right of the task bar. Select Playback devices Select your Speakers Click Properties Select the Levels Tab Jill Quote
snapcam Posted October 17, 2019 Author Report Posted October 17, 2019 Hello Jill My levels tab varies from yours the Microphone and line in are muted and I have a centre and sub woofer both on. What I don't have is an enhancements tab which makes me suspect the driver. My driver is version 6.0.1.7743 dated 16/02 2016. How does that compare to yours. Quote
jkb Posted October 17, 2019 Report Posted October 17, 2019 I am using Windows7 & driver is 13/12/2011 Ver 6.0.1.6526 So very old! I don't have centre or sub woofer, I have my computer connected to my Hi-Fi system only 2 speakers. John is using Windows8.1 & he has the same tabs as I do, but his driver is 2018. Maybe something to do with the sound card or version of Windows? Jill Quote
snapcam Posted October 17, 2019 Author Report Posted October 17, 2019 That seems to reinforce what I was saying and the Techy I was with today. There seems to be no uniformity with windows. I wonder is it connected to the LG sound bar I have connected because I find this also on a second older backup desktop. I will just live with it until something turns up maybe the next Windows update. Quote
jkb Posted October 17, 2019 Report Posted October 17, 2019 Can you connect some different speakers, just to try it? If the sound is fine on your laptop, then it must be something to do with the desktop speakers. Quote
snapcam Posted October 18, 2019 Author Report Posted October 18, 2019 I'll try that later today and let you know Quote
snapcam Posted October 18, 2019 Author Report Posted October 18, 2019 Different speakers same result. Published and played same result on desktop ,same file played ok on laptop. We can safely say it is something peculiar to my desktops both of them??? Remember when all we worried about was a slide getting jammed in the gate? Quote
Igor Posted October 18, 2019 Report Posted October 18, 2019 Try to update drivers for your sound card. Check available drivers in Device Manager for sound card. Quote
snapcam Posted October 22, 2019 Author Report Posted October 22, 2019 Hello Igor Sorry I was in Dublin for the Irish AV International The driver is already up to date. I think I will live with it as no one else has ever experienced this it must be something in my own system causing it. Quote
