JudyM
Hi, I am a wedding photographer and I want to produce a preview show which has the photo with an overlaid caption with the filename on it. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this automatically. I used to use ASee DSee which you could just alter the properties for all the slides so it would display the caption of filename without extension at top centre or bottom. I just can't find a way in PTE
davegee
Just add a TEXT Object and choose "Add a Text Template" in O&A - Choose NAME. If you create a Style for this you can apply it to all Images. DG
JudyM
Ok, how do I create a style from here?
davegee
Click on Styles - Create and fill in all of the info. DG P.S. https://docs.picturestoexe.com/en-us/9.0/slide-styles/create You will need the Deluxe Version. If you shoot in sRGB you can get rid of that horrible underscore
JudyM
That explains it, I am only using Essentials. Is there any discount for upgrading to Deluxe when I have only just purchased the version 9 Essentials?
davegee
Go to Settings/Preferences / Toolbars and turn EVERYTHING on. You should be able to see Styles and be able to apply preset Styles. Check the Presets. DG
JudyM
Now I have the Deluxe version, I have created a style, but it is really not obvious how to apply it to the rest of the slides.
JudyM
Ok, I have found it now, sorry!
davegee
Have you read the Online Help? Highlight all required slides. Click on Styles, choose the Style that you just created and Apply it. DG P.s. Great!!

Greetings Judy, Perhaps I am misunderstanding the question, but I think there is an easier way of putting filenames in each slide. I'd go to 'Project Options', 'Defaults', 'Insert template'. Make your selection. Then 'Apply to all slides'. Afterwards, it is easy to remove them for the final output. Gary
JudyM
Thanks for that, all sorted now. I was using Essentials which was part of the problem and didn't give me those options.
Lin Evans
It can be done either way. The advantage of using a style is that you "can"' have the option of applying to "any" or all the slides by selecting before applying. Of course you can also remove the caption in Objects and Animations for any slides you don't want the slide name to appear on so if you do it through Project Options and apply to all slides, you can remove it selectively. There's more than one way to skin a cat with PTE.... LOL Best regards, Lin
Lin Evans
Judy, that was a smart move - people who use PTE professionally need to really have the Deluxe version. It's a very, very powerful tool with which one can do things just not possible with other products. Best regards, Lin
