stonemason Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 When converting existing shows to version 10 after opening the existing .PTE file is it necessary to "save as" to over write the version 9 .pte file in the new version 10 format or are all the improvements in version 10 performance included by simply going to publish show in .exe format without doing a "save as" on the .PTE file? jkb Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 When opening any show in a different version I would always do a save as and give it a new name. Purely so I have a backup copy of the original just in case. If going from pte9 to pte10 and all you want is a new exe then just make it, no need to save the PTE file. Jill Quote
jt49 Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 Igor said (August 23): PTE 10 projects are mainly compatible with PTE 9 (if you didn't apply a slide style which contains additional images). Nevertheless I would follow Jill's recommendation. Quote
stonemason Posted October 13, 2019 Author Report Posted October 13, 2019 Thanks for the advice much appreciated Geoff Quote
Igor Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Hi Geoff, PTE 9 and PTE 10 use same format of .pte project files. Excluding some changes in slide styles (if you use them). So mainly there is no need to re-save old projects created in PTE 9. Quote
