When converting existing shows to version 10 after opening the existing .PTE file is it necessary to "save as" to over write the version 9 .pte file in the new version 10 format or are all the improvements in version 10 performance included by simply going to publish show in .exe format without doing a "save as" on the .PTE file?

When opening any show in a different version I would always do a save as and give it a new name. Purely so I have a backup copy of the original just in case.

If going from pte9 to pte10 and all you want is a new exe then just make it, no need to save the PTE file.

Igor said (August 23): PTE 10 projects are mainly compatible with PTE 9 (if you didn't apply a slide style which contains additional images).

Nevertheless I would follow Jill's recommendation.

Hi Geoff,

PTE 9 and PTE 10 use same format of .pte project files. Excluding some changes in slide styles (if you use them).

So mainly there is no need to re-save old projects created in PTE 9.
