19CRICH Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 CAN YOU CREATE A VIDEO FILE AND SAVE IT ONTO YOUR HARD DRIVE FOR WRITING TO DVD AT A LATER DATE?I DO NOT HAVE A DVD WRITER AT HOME BUT HAVE ACCESS TO ONE AT WORK I USUALLY TAKE MY FILES TO WORK AND BURN THEM TO DVD THERE BUT I CAN'T DO THAT WTITHOUT LOADING PTE ON THE COMPUTER AT WORK AND DOING THE CONVERSION.CAN ANYONE HELP.STEVE Quote
GLS48 Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Steve,Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 and several other programs will allow you to write a file to either/or. As a rule I will burn an image to the hard drive at the same time I burn the DVD.George Quote
Ken Cox Posted August 15, 2004 Report Posted August 15, 2004 Stevewelcome to the forumthe vid file that pte creates is a temp fileI used to use tmpgenc to take that temporary vid file and convert it to permanent mpeg files then when i had enough to make a show import those mpeg's into nero or roxio dvd makershttp://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.htmlif you do a search of the forum for tmpgenc you will find many threadsi changed my system so now i bypass the tmpgenc step -- but i would still use it if neededken Quote
