Mike Craven Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 I produced a slideshow today on XP and had it returned as it loaded up to the first slide and locked on both a PC and a laptop running Windows 98. Anybody worked round this problem.Mike Quote
alrobin Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Mike,Tell us more. How large was the first image file? Are there any objects on the first slide? Is any music added to the first slide? Did you try to save the show again on another cd? Have you tried the same cd on a non-Win98 pc other than the one on which it was produced?. Quote
Conflow Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Hi Mike,That's a highly unusual fault because a '98 will play virtually anything and when 2 x '98 PC'sgive you the same "kick-back" something really is amiss-I agree with Al Robins, try the CD on a 'non '98 PC' but for the moment however I would forget about the CD contents - first issue is to get the CD running, other issues later.By any chance did you burn that Show on to a "Re-Writable CD" ? if so, what burn speed ?Have you tried 'Opening the CD' and dragging the File across to the Desktop - did it copyacross to the Desktop ?I ask those 2 questions to determine if it's the CD or the PC' that are at fault -Brian Kelly.Conflow. Igor Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 1) When first slide appears and slide-show lock ups, is the music playing and can you press Esc button to quit?2) Is you slide-show synchronized to music?3) Have those PCs with Windows 98 sound cards?4) What kind of music you've added to the slide-show: MP3 or WMA?5) Please try our test examples of slide-shows:http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/show/Per_aspera_ad_astra.zip (1,5 MB)http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/starwars.zip (1,2 MB)And let me know how they will work.
