F4 button closes down programme [SOLVED]

Since the last update for Studio 10 Pro the F4 button closes down the programme instead of going to screen where you can see all of the pictures imported, and shuffle them about.  BUT this seems to happen only in projects made before the update, any new ones work ok

I tried with 10.9 & it worked as usual.

Just downloaded 10.10 & yes F4 does close down PTE.

This happens with both a new or old project.

I think most people would use the little triangle to enter fullscreen slidelist rather than the function key
But having something that instantly closes down the program without saving the changes is not good.

Just tried the little triangle by the slides and timeline button and that closes down the programme as well.

I quickly tested and can't reproduce this problem.

If you observe this problem, please give me more details:

1. Did you work in the Slide List or in theTimeline mode BEFORE you pressed F4 key?

2. Exact version in the About window.

3. Version of Windows (10, 8, 7).

4. Does this problem happen with Sample Project? See the Main menu > Help > Open Sample Project.

I also can not confirm this ... the program does not close when using the F4 button, as well as when clicking on the triangle. Version 10.0.10 and W8.1

Tried with Sample Project and older PTE Project.

F4 and Triangle Button work as expected.

It is widely reported that the latest Windows Update is causing severe problems in some cases - BSOD etc.

I am on the latest update and have not experienced it but I know that a friend has.

Hello Igor,

1. It happened the first time I pressed the button whilst in the main screen.  It is either the main screen 

2. 10.0.10 64bit build 10.  running on

3. windows 10 pro  last updated 15/ 04/2020 which was before the pictures update

4. Yes does the same with the sample project, if I press F4 or the triangle the programme closes regardless if in slides or timeline.

5. if I try from the dropdown setting menu I get the first two slides filling the screen and the menu tree still showing. see attached

I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

As I said I only downloaded 10.10 today. I think the triangle worked ok, will check later when back on computer.

Ok, I have sorted it.  I downloaded the latest update for windows 10 KB4537572  and now it works.

tried again & yes the Triangle in slide view & Timeline view closes the program.

PTE pro 10.0.10 build 6

Windows 7 64 bit

I start a new project - which opens my default template of 2 blank slides.
I add some extra slides in Slide view

Press the triangle & PTE immediately closes without any warning -does the same even if I don't add any slides.

Also same from sample project

 

It worked fine using PTE 10.0.9 so I may well restore that version, although working on anything at the moment.

I have just downloaded 10.10 onto my laptop - also win7 64 bit

And everything works as it should.

On both main PC & laptop I download from the Forum & don't associate PTE icon.

My laptop was previously version 10.05
Desktop was 10.09

Tested with 10.0.9 and 10.0.10 on a sytem with Win 10 Pro Version 1903 build 18362.778 and I can not repro, works as expected using the F4 key and the triangle.

The F4 key works correctly for me, both in the Slides and the Timeline view with PT AV Studio Pro 10.0.10 and Win 10 Pro version 1909.
