Pinguin Posted September 13, 2020 Report Posted September 13, 2020 I have a lot of different audio clips in my project and I see that there is no way to visually align them in volume. No level meter, no RMS measurement, only my ears. How to do it right way? Quote
denisb Posted September 14, 2020 Report Posted September 14, 2020 Hi, I use http://www.vuplayer.com/other.php Or audacity Denis Quote
Pinguin Posted September 14, 2020 Author Report Posted September 14, 2020 denisb, thank you, this is not a bad idea. But I would like to see a solution right in PTE. For now, I open the project in Audition and see where the problems are. Quote
wideangle Posted September 14, 2020 Report Posted September 14, 2020 You could put an entry in the section ‘Suggestions for next versions’. Regards wideangle Quote
Big John Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 For sound - your ears are best at judging this rather than sitting watching a VU meter. You talk of different audio clips in your sequence - then adjust them by listening to what is important - if something jars - then adjust it. If you are talking about the overall sound level - we occasionally get sequences into competitions which are either higher or lower than the normal - but these are adjusted when shown to what is the average level of all sequences. One easy way to get this level is to play a few CD's until you get an idea of the sound level - then make yours the same. Obviously if the track is recorded too loudly it will overload and distort and this will be obvious. Likewise a quiet recording will be equally obvious in that you will have to increase the sound to be able to hear it correctly. Go by your ears would be my advice. Quote

A good common sense answer that will work 100% of the time. Quote
