The CD drive does open when the eject button is first pressed but not if you close it again (with CD in) as requested by the message.

The same thing happens if ejected using my DVD ROM but the drive does open to allow me to remove the disk.

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition.

Hello everybody, I'm new!!, Problems when ejecting CD..........

confusing problem.

even tho' you stopped the the show - is the drive still trying to read the cd? -- is the light on the drive blinking ?

have you tried the cd in another system ?

you might not have the system power to run from the cd -- this has been brought up many times in the past -- conflow gave some insight on the subject about a month back

Hi Molelyn,

I had a simmilar problem some time back and eventually traced it to the cd burning software which was attached to the drive. The ols solution seemed to work i.e. uninstall - re install. all worked fine after that.
