Rosemary A Posted January 6, 2021 Report Posted January 6, 2021 Hi, Could someone please tell me where I am going wrong? When I have pages 1 and 2 open I can see the page separation line but when the page turns it is gone and does not appear in subsequent pages. I have not changed the page size (1050 x 945 pixels) Thank you, Rosemary Book.mp4 Quote
macian Posted January 8, 2021 Report Posted January 8, 2021 I have not used this technique so I don't know a precise answer. However, do the images in the correct pages have a thin border which shows as the line between the pages? If so, do the incorrect pages have images which lack a border? Where I've said "images" maybe that could be "frames." Maybe others with far more expertise would offer help if you could attach a zipped version of the PTE file so that they could take a closer look at all the details. I have just noticed that the page 1&2 line disappears as soon as the page turn animation starts. Sorry if this is no help at all! Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 8, 2021 Author Report Posted January 8, 2021 Thank you Macian for trying to solve this mystery for me. I just don't know why the line disappears! None of the pages have a border. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen to them. Anyhow I am sending the Zip of the PTE file. Thanks, Rosemary Book.zip Quote
davegee Posted January 8, 2021 Report Posted January 8, 2021 Rosemary, The .pte file is not enough. Go to File / Backup in ZIP and send the result. DG Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 8, 2021 Author Report Posted January 8, 2021 Hi Dave, I normally use 7-zip but downloaded WinZip to look for "backup" I get that far but don't see where or what to backup. I shall continue trying. Rosemary Quote
wideangle Posted January 8, 2021 Report Posted January 8, 2021 Rosemary What Dave is referring to is to use the Backup in zip feature within PT AV Studio, to send all the project. In other words, open your project, then go to File / Backup in ZIP. It is that zip file that he is asking you to send. Regards wideangle Quote
davegee Posted January 8, 2021 Report Posted January 8, 2021 Just click on "Backup in zip". You do not need a third party software. DG Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 8, 2021 Author Report Posted January 8, 2021 Thank you guys for hanging in there with me! I did not realize that PTE could create a zip! Rosemary Book_Jan8-2021_12-39-36.zip Quote
wideangle Posted January 8, 2021 Report Posted January 8, 2021 Hi Rosemary The Backup in Zip is extremely useful generally. I do a Backup in Zip for every project I create. It is a very quick way to create a security backup of your work, as, in one click, it collects together copies of all the files you have used in that project, and zips them together. It’s also handy for transferring a project from, say, a desktop to a laptop. Regards wideangle Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 8, 2021 Author Report Posted January 8, 2021 Hi Wideangle, Thanks for the pointer and the advice. I hadn’t found that option yet. So much to learn as it is so different to ProShow Producer. It’s a good way to spend lockdown. Now we all need some fresh pictures. Rosemary Quote

Hi Rosemary, the dividing line appears due to the dark background at the bottom (since the first page in this slide is anchored to the cover). I would not change the design of the cover opening with the page attached to it. You just need to put a narrow strip of Solid Color of the same color as the page on the seam of the pages below. See the diagram in the picture. Paul P.S. If you want to keep this dividing line, you need to do in the reverse order - place a narrow strip of Solid Color in the cover color under the seam of the pages on all subsequent slides. Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 9, 2021 Author Report Posted January 9, 2021 Thank you Paul. I really appreciate the trouble that you have taken and the screen shots that you have given me. It makes it easier for a novice! All I have to do now is try and get my shadow! Rosemary Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 11, 2021 Author Report Posted January 11, 2021 Hi Everyone, The ongoing saga with Barry's tutorial book. I have got all the pages in and now I want the pictures in situ. When I try to get the pictures into page 1 they come on the front of the book as well as page 1. (Page 1 is attached to the front cover) Any ideas? Rosemary Book 3_Jan11-2021_14-35-49.zip Quote

Rosemary A Posted January 12, 2021 Author Report Posted January 12, 2021 Thank you Paul. You have come to my rescue yet again. I thought that I had tried turning off the visibility of the back page but obviously not! Rosemary Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 17, 2021 Author Report Posted January 17, 2021 Hi Everyone, Hopefully this is the end of this tutorial. Clearly I am in over my head but determined to finish! When I apply the slide style for the book cover it works well. The problem is with pages 1 and 2 which is the start of the 2nd slide style used for the pages. There is no time to view the pages and I don't know what to do about it! Slide Style Book_Jan16-2021_14-31-59.zip Quote
macian Posted January 17, 2021 Report Posted January 17, 2021 Hi Rosemary, The page numbering in a printed book has page 1 and odd numbers as the right-hand page and the even numbered pages on the left. To make a book-style realistic, I do not think the first image should be on the reverse of the front cover. In the absence of a fly-leaf the first image should be on the first of the right-hand pages. Why have you done the page layouts in PTE? Surely it would be easier and more accurate to do that in Photoshop, then the images on the facing pages would match up and you would get a consistent gutter each side of the fold. If you were to rename your image files in a coherent way e.g. p2t and p2b for “page 2 top and page 2 bottom” or p1f for “page 1 full” it would be easier to see the structure. You seem to have stretched the width of the images to fit the aspect ratio, which has done the people shown no favours. Finally, At 7.000 sec into the show slide 2 appears and the page turn starts at the same time. Can you delay the start time of the page-turn animation? Quote
Rosemary A Posted January 17, 2021 Author Report Posted January 17, 2021 Hi Macian. Your pointers are well taken. I am just blindly following the tutorial! I shall have another attempt. I agree that poor husband does look a little wide. Thanks, Rosemary Quote
