Hi,

I have read instructions with help for creating Video from PtE ( V v.30) and used Pinnacle studio 8 to convert AVI file - this I have copied on a CD ( I used a CD-RW so that I could make sure OK before putting onto normal CD) .

When I placed in DVD unit & press play I get on screen video CD - PBC and then it will not play - I have checked back of CD RW and one can see some data has been recorded

Any suggestions as to what is wrong

many thanks

I am not familiar with pinnacle's protocol but when making the temp avi there is a box to be checked re pinnacle in the pte program

now are you trying to make a vcd, or a svcd using a cd rw disk

or

are you trying to make a dvd - - your might be able to burn some stuff to the cdrw but the dvd player will not recognize it -- you must use a dvd-rw or a dvd-r or a dvd+r if you are going to make a dvd

you will have to give us the answers to the above before we can help you further

I found using a cd-rw that it would not play at all or if it did, it was so crappy. I just bought a bunch of real cheap cd-r and I use them knowing I will have a lot of coasters. Saving the used ones for data backup cd's.

Hi, Ken & Catrick,

I have discovered that my DVD was not able to view the modern formats options , apart from DVD's . I was considering a cheaper one for the bedroom - I got a cheap Phillips slimline from my local Asda (UK) part of the Walmart Company (USA) will play most formats available at present - played the CD-RW no problem -

many thanks

ianws :)
