Dusty
I'm thinking about using this feature on my portrait proof AV shows I give to customers. Too often they watch the show so many times that I think the images get old and their excitement to order starts to wain! My question is how does this feature work? Can the customer over ride it by resetting the date on their computer? Thanks,~Cindy
ccmanz
Yes,You pick the date you want the show to quit running and display a message. You also type any message you want them to know.Example:Time to make your Order. Call Cindy at 1-800-xxx-xxxxBut you are right, If you set the date on your computer back, then the PTE show will play.cc

Igor
For the next version 4.40, I've realized improved protection of "Expire date" feature and added new options: "Number of runs" and "Number of days".It possible to use all three options simultaneously. Dusty
Igor, that sounds good. When will 4.40 be ready?Ken, yeah, I have to get tougher. Most people are pretty good, but the busier I get, the less time I have to waste on those that drag their feet.~Cindy
Ken Cox
cINDYyou could end up with unhappy customers either way " we really did not have time to study the cd, things came up and then it will not work anymore -- dont you trust us " etc etc get 50- 75% of the money up front -- they will know you mean business then ken
Ronniebootwest
Getting customers in the first place is hard enough these days, but when they will not either order from a proof CD or pay for what they want, life gets even harder.Just make sure that your proof photo's are low res pics so thay can't print out good copies and don't forget the PTE option to 'not allow printing'.Ken is right also, don't lose the customers you have by upsetting them. When Igor releases the next version, we will have a few more choices!Ron West
Dusty
The last proof show I just gave out I couldn't bring myself to do the time limit. I have always enabled the don't print button. I will end up charging a lot more up front in the near future. Thanks for the advice!~Cindy
