I use P2E to create slideshows used as a part of a larger presentation. What I'd really like to do is have a black slide first that I can manually step off and then have the music and presentation roll from there.

What I end up with now is either the projector's blue screen or my desktop both of which are distracting.

So can I have one slide just sit there (either black or with my logo) till I manually start the next slide at which point the music starts and it runs through to the end?

Have I made myself clear?

Looking forward to any ideas.

First make a black image (perhaps adding a logo or whatever) using an image editor such as photoshop.

In PTE, choose "Project options" then the "Main" tab. Tick "Show startup window".

Click on "Customise Startup Window" and find your black slide.

Decide whether to "Show Help Button".

That's it. When your show runs, you'll get a black screen until you choose to move on.

Well, that's how I'd do it anyway, but maybe someone else has an alternative approach...

Roger has explained a nice way of doing it.

Here is another – create 2 shows.

Create a One Image Show as you’re starting show (1 image with link button to your starting show) – No music – Leave last slide on screen – will stay on screen until and after Main Show runs.

Dress it up real nice in your photo editor, with your LOGO. – using object editor – button/ picture – properties - action on mouse click – “ Run application or open file “ ( to run your Main Show when ready )

Create your Main Show – close after last slide.

When main show is ended it will return to your One Image Show still on screen with your logo.

Or create yet another different One Image Show as your ending show with LOGO.

You have a few options, I am sure others will add..

:P Ralph has actually described my preferred way of working. The technique I described earlier is easier to do but this way is much sexier.

Jay,

The way Ralph outlined it is how I prefer to do it also. Keep in mind, that your opening slideshow (the Logo or Black Screen) should not have music with it. Otherwise, it can continue to play when you start your real show. This works very smoothly and looks extremely professional when done in this manner.

Good luck.
