nelson Posted April 25, 2022 Report Posted April 25, 2022 This probably has nothing to do with the program? I have started having problems with copy and paste. I am trying to copy from one show to another. Does not matter which shows or if I try to select multiple files within one show and paste at end. The clipboard paste sometimes is greyed out, other times it will paste a previous slide. Most of the time nothing is showing on the clipboard. If I try to copy and paste in objects and animations there are no issues. I can select multiple photos in other programs and it works as it should. I have deleted the program and reinstalled running the latest version. I have tried all the clipboard trouble shooting suggestions provided on-line. Has anyone had clipboard issues in the past? It seems strange it is only happening in this program. Thanks for any suggestions you may have, Kieron Quote
nelson Posted April 25, 2022 Author Report Posted April 25, 2022 A follow up. The keyboard shortcut to see what is on the clipboard is windows key+V. It will show empty when I copy in PTE. All other programs show the copied material. Strange! Quote
davegee Posted April 25, 2022 Report Posted April 25, 2022 Tried the Copy and Paste between a Project and a New Project and all is well. Windows+V shows as below but states "V 9" - I am using latest version. Quote
jkb Posted April 25, 2022 Report Posted April 25, 2022 I often copy & Paste Slides from 1 project to another & have not had any problems. Jill Quote
Igor Posted April 25, 2022 Report Posted April 25, 2022 Hi Kieron, Did you try to restart Windows? Quote
nelson Posted April 25, 2022 Author Report Posted April 25, 2022 I have restarted windows several times and did a system restore, no difference. I have backups that I will have to revert to after making sure I have my latest projects backed up. I will give that a try. It worked fine 5 days ago. Something is corrupted? Will follow up if I get it sorted. Thanks everyone, Kieron Quote
Igor Posted April 25, 2022 Report Posted April 25, 2022 What exactly version of PTE you use? Do you use twop instances of PTE to copy and paste slides/objects, or one copy of PTE and switch between projects? Quote
nelson Posted April 25, 2022 Author Report Posted April 25, 2022 Update: I think I have resolved the issue? One slide would never copy. The slide has a splitter for background objects. If I tried to copy several slides with this image in the sequence it caused all sorts of problems. I ended up placing a blank slide in the new location of where I wanted it to go. I then copied all the information from objects and animation to the blank slide. It now works, and I can even copy this new slide. That would mean the splitter was not the problem. Mind boggling, it would never show on the clipboard until I redid the file. Anyway, it works as it should now. Thanks for putting up with my troubles, Kieron Quote
nelson Posted April 25, 2022 Author Report Posted April 25, 2022 Igor, I am using the latest version. I tried with 2 versions open and also opening and closing the two sequences to copy from. Quote
Igor Posted April 26, 2022 Report Posted April 26, 2022 Kieron, I just read your previous reply above. Does this problem occurs with a certain project, or with other projects, too? If the problem occurs only with one project, please send me this .pte project (only one file). We'll check it. Quote
nelson Posted April 26, 2022 Author Report Posted April 26, 2022 I will check later and experiment with other projects. Thanks for your concern Igor. Quote
nelson Posted April 26, 2022 Author Report Posted April 26, 2022 I have experimented with older shows and no issues. The show I just completed that started the issue is working fine after copying the files in objects and animations to the faulty side. I can now copy and paste with no issues. The show I copied from that has the faulty slide still will not allow me to copy and paste it. It is definitely corrupted. I replaced it with the new slide. All is well. Thanks again, Kieron Quote
Igor Posted April 27, 2022 Report Posted April 27, 2022 Kieron, I'm glad that you resolved this problem. You can send me a project with this slide for testing. Quote
