d67 Posted February 16, 2005 Report Posted February 16, 2005 HelloMy slideshow "Oh happy days" is downloadable on Bill's site, beechbrook.comIt relates a meeting (camp) of young french and german glider pilots during a week of last august. All photos are from the participants themselves. The slideshow was created at the demand of a friend of mine who is also the organisator of this meeting. The goal was to render the very good mood of this camp and to use it as a support to give arguments to receive financial help for this year meeting. This unusual type of "argument" largely facilitated the task of my friend :D Happy flyingsComments, negative or positive, welcome Quote

dadou Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 PatrickOther time seing your slide show with friends ! Marveillous !Can you explain me what is a "vol d'onde " ? I think that is a different manner to fly htat the first one, but .... ????? Quote
d67 Posted February 19, 2005 Author Report Posted February 19, 2005 Can you explain me what is a "vol d'onde " ? Vol d'onde = wave flightI am not a specialist but as I know there are 2 types of soaring :thermal flyingwhere the pilot looks after ascendant winds generated by the earth surface heated by the sundynamic flying making the most of the winds and in this case there are 2 types of soaringridge flying with the help of the winds going upwards along the mountains slopewave flying where the pilots searches the ondulatory form of the air generated in altitude, high above the mountains.
Marianne Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Hello Patrick,I watched your show and I was impressed by the music. Especially the first part. I hoped to get information on the last slide, but you seemed to have forgotten this I am always searching for this kind of dramatic music to use with my holiday sequences (mountaineering).Could you please give me the title of the music you used? The second part I recognized but the title doesn't want to come up in my memory. Must be the age I was also surprised by your use of 'no effect'. In my opinion this is sometimes useful, but using it too much gives the whole show a touch of hastyness. Why did you choose for it?Anyway, I think you succeeded in capturing the mood. I have never considered this kind of flying, but watching your show brings up a desire.... Quote
d67 Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 Could you please give me the title of the music you used? The second part I recognized but the title doesn't want to come up in my memory. Must be the age Sorry ... music titles are1 part : Hans Zimmer / film music, Crimson Tide (USS Alabama in France)2 part : Hot Butter / Popcorn3 part : Medwyn Goodall / GalahadI was also surprised by your use of 'no effect'. In my opinion this is sometimes useful, but using it too much gives the whole show a touch of hastyness. Why did you choose for it?It was a deliberate choice as I found that the very basic fade in/out effect suited very well to the idea I have of I flight in a glider... smooth, silent, relaxing.I found also that rendering the mood with the help of the music and the photos would be annihilated by tricky and multiple disturbing effectsI have never considered this kind of flying, but watching your show brings up a desire....Thank you very much for your comments and maybe, I gave you an idea for a splendid hobby Happy flyings Quote
JPD Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 Bonjour Patrick,Well done. I think it must be difficult to do a show with photos of several persons. You succeed to do a nice show with them. And many thanks for the explanations about flying Quote
dadou Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 What a surprise! The Patrick'slideshow is yet up the 1100 downloads !A very good utilisation of PTE ; people can see the PTE posibilities .These persons are not accustumed to slideshow and this slideshow allows them to know the Igor's work and the posibilities to use their phtographies!A very good demonstration , Patrick ! d67 Posted February 27, 2005 Author Report Posted February 27, 2005 What a surprise! The Patrick'slideshow is yet up the 1100 downloads !Thank you very much Daniel for your kind comment. I am really astonished by the number of downloads in just 10 days !!! The aviation enthusiast community is a very great one ! I am very enjoyed for many reasons, first of all for my friend who "ordered" me this slideshow as it helped him greatly to obtain subsidies for this year meeting. The second reason is that it demonstrates that there is no need of very expensive and high tech equipment as all these photos where taken with very basic non reflex pocket numeric cameras (2 to 4 Megapixels !!!) and by pure young amateurs in difficult situations. I am also pleased to see that the very basic and simple fade in/out effect (nearly all of my effects), which is often seen as boring or getting us sleep, is not so bad ! Many thanks to Igor for his tremendous jewel and to Bill Hines for his kindness and for giving us the chance to share with others our work on his web site.Have a good day Quote
JPD Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 More than 1400 in only 8 days! It's wonderful for PTE. How many people who didn't know it, will have the idea to use it in the future? Quote
dadou Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 And now, up to 1500 !Patrick , you did a very good demonstration of the PTE use !Congratulations! Quote
Ken Cox Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 demonstrates that there is no need of very expensive and Patrickit is called the "KISS PRINCIPLE"ken Quote
d67 Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 Patrick it is called the "KISS PRINCIPLE" ken Keep it Simple, StupidYou are absolutely right. This case is a good demonstration for this expression !!! Quote
JPD Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Bonjour Patrick,I see you have many and many friends among the pilots, but not only among them. What you did is marvellous for PTE, nobody did the same for PTE in France before. Many thanks from all who really like PTE Quote
