Guest guru Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Al, I think it's not (not only) a problem of memory or CPU clock. As far as I know, pictures are NOT loaded in cache when a presentation starts. And sound files, as Kim says, are "only" 100 MB.I guess the problem is in the project. I analyzed the .pte file, and I've seen ALL pictures are customized with 3 objects and 2 groups each one! Here is the problem, in my opinion. Quote
alrobin Posted February 2, 2003 Report Posted February 2, 2003 Guido,I think you are probably right (that's why they call you the "guru"! )Another example: Granot's interesting demo, ("Effects01", I think it was called), used 138 jpegs, each less than 1kb in size and only 4 "customized". There were a few small objects. It was 158 kb in size. One of my own shows, with 121 images, 30 of them "customized" (no objects, though), occupies only 34 kb.The main contributor to the size of the pte file must be the objects, as you indicated. I suspect if one uses a lot of images as objects, that the size of the pte file could increase quite dramatically.Ciao,Al Quote
