InAWord, No. Sounds like you know what to do in order to convert to jpeg or gif format. PSD's would make for a very bulky slideshow file, anyway. :)

I generally retain my *.psd files without flattening so that I can go back at any time and alter things. As regards use in PTE, I File>Save for Web at whatever combination of layers that I need. For instance an opening title sequence may consist of two or three combinations of layers on top of an original background - Filtered Background; Titled Filtered Background; Titled Background and Background.
