Conflow
Hi Ken and PumkinFirstly, congratulations to Ken on his 1300.th Posting ~ that surely must be a record ? and as they say in Ireland ~ 'More power to your Elbow'To Pumkin:- Ken has given you very good advice in that you really need a 'Techie' to set up the PC.Network System, otherwise you are only inviting in every Tom, Dick and Harry and a few "muggers" to boot, if you activate the Network System yourself.I would also advise you to install 'Microsoft A/V Beta 1.0' ~ Its a "Real Time Scanner" which is ALWAYS ACTIVE and provides excellent protection against Hackers and Hi-Jackers. You will also need an up to date version of NortonA/V (or similar) for EMail protection. Finally you need a copy of 'Spybot' to Fix-Repair any damage to your PC after any Hi-Jack attempt. Please heed the advice, other than that, welcome to the Forum and Happy Networking.Brian.Conflow. ccmanz
One way to do this is map the directory you are wanting to work with.If you open Windows Explorer. (Not Internet explore)then click tools at the top you can Map network Directory.... and give the Dir a drive letterYou can have it reconnect when you restart your computer. You can also Disconnect anytime you want. You can pick a drive letter and pick the Dir you want to map.I have all my pictures on one computer.I have this Dir mapped as Drive P: (For Pictures) on all three of my computes. So when I sit down and open Photoshop I know all of my pictures are in Drive P:I click on open Drive P: and then I am looking for the folder with the pictures I want to edit.I am sure this same option will work for you if you put all of your files within the same DriveAnd Map it with the same drive letter on each computercc
