Ken Cox
Larry Thompson started a threadhttp://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...t=ST&f=2&t=3196and wit h all the urls i have saved i could not find the one i wanted today's PCWorld's issue of Digital Focus revealed what i was looking forhttp://www.pcworld.com/resource/columnist/...,colid,6,00.aspquote from the newsletter -- CANT SAY WHETHER THE NEWSLETTER IS POSTED AS YET Dave's Favorites: Share Your Photos at PBase * A friend recently turned me on to PBase.com, a photo sharing site that combines free and subscription-based photo hosting with related user forums. It's even got a magazine that you can download from the site. PBase.com is not like Ofoto or Shutterfly, which cater to consumers who want to upload photos, make prints, and buy personalized gifts like T-shirts and coffee mugs. Instead, PBase appeals to people that are serious about the craft of photography and want a forum to explore other people's art and share their own. I've perused some of the collections at this site and am amazed by the quality of the photos. If you're looking for inspiration in your own photography, try visiting some of these PBase galleries: Shoshanna Moserhttp://www.pbase.com/shoshanna Audra Baecker's Self Portraitshttp://www.pbase.com/aaudrab/audras_photos Mali and Ghana by Johan97http://www.pbase.com/johan97/mali_and_ghana Most Viewed by Christina Crafthttp://www.pbase.com/ccraft/most_popular You can post your own photos at PBase.com for free using a trial account; or you can buy 200MB of storage for $23 per year. Other pricing is available as well. QUOTEIf you know someone who'd like to subscribe to this newsletter, send them to the Newsletter Subscriptions page:http://www.pcworld.com/resource/newsletters btw i am not connected with the magazine/newsletter butIMHO it is well worth subscribing token
Guest guru
Actually, PBase is an excellent and very useful resource for all who want to share their photos, but also their slideshows: our French friend Patrick ("d67" in this forum) has uploaded nine slideshows, and the download is very fast. The URL is http://www.pbase.com/pb67/diaporamas.
Jimbo
Pbase is indeed a good place to store photos and, as Ken said, there's no mugs and calendars etc to get in the way. I've used then for a couple of years now and I haven't had any down-time problems with the service or server. Definitely worth a look if you just want a photo buff site.Jim. Guido,I think you'll find that the shows themselves are stored on his own home site, with a link from the images in PBase. I have some images on PBase, too, and would love to be able to store slideshows there also, as it is a real deal in terms of "storage" cost. d67
I confirm what Alrobin says. The slideshows I present on my PBase space are not stored themselves on PBase but on various home sites or Cottage. As I know, it is not possible to upload to PBase something other than jpeg or zip's containing jpeg files.
