CKefford Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 As a new user, I find that when I log onto a drive containing music from a CD I cannot add tracks to the slide show. Also is there a facility for adding a commentary to the slide show? Quote
Ken Cox Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 CKeffordWELCOME TO THE FORUMcontaining music from a CD I cannot add tracks to the slide show i am guessing it is a store bought cdthe tunes have to ripped to mp3 and stored on your driveif you windows media player 10 on your system it will rip the tunes to mp3, [ it will by default want to do wma format and p2e and wma files dont get along] but you will have to rename the files -- it rips with the names like this01 Track 1.mp3 - you will be able to get the track names off the album coverthen you import the mp3's into the showas far as adding commentary, i will leave that to other people to advise youthey are going to ask a lot of questions -- but they do it to their shows quite often with excellent resultsken Quote
JRR Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Ckefford:Welcome to the PTE Forum as Ken saysTwo ways to add narration:1. Mix it with the music track in a sound editor2. add it to individual slides using the SOUND Line under the preview pane on the main page of PTE.Option one is better as you can control the volume level of the music when adding the narration. But it is tricker getting the narration lined up in the right spot.If using Option 2, make sure that on the MUSIC tab of PROJECT OPTIONS that you check on the "Don't interrupt sound...."If you using the timeline to watch the preview in the small window at top right of the sound line, then under Option 2 you won't hear the voice over. You have to use the full screen preview. Under Option 1, you'll hear the voice over no matter which preview you use. Quote
