Recently, when I convert 'Raw' files with Photoshop, I am finding that the image is saved as an 'XMP' file. I am not familiar with this format! Can anyone explain what is happening please?

Ron,

They are "Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform" files used for embedding data with the files.

This Site has some details.
