JBrown Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 I am by no means a web designer, but I've stumbled through enough to get a website up. Using frontpage, can I put the slideshows on my site? And if so, how? Thanks Quote
Michel Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 No problem: you upload your show (.zip) in a subdirectory named (for example) "Shows".You call the file with:http://mydomain.com/Shows/myshow.zipIt's all ! Don't worry, it's easy: just do it ! Quote
JBrown Posted August 6, 2005 Author Report Posted August 6, 2005 So I don't upload it as an .exe file... Quote
LumenLux Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 It could work as .exe file, but many people can't download an exe file because of the virus potential. By including your .exe file in a zip format, it can be accepted by more people. Quote
Barry Beckham Posted August 6, 2005 Report Posted August 6, 2005 Another thing to consider as well, is that some web space providers automatically remove exe files and they won't tell you either. Its happened to me loads of timesBarry Quote
mhwarner Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 On the off chance that what you are actually asking is: "Can I put the shows on my website somewhere and allow people to view them directly from the website?" ... the answer to that would be no. You can make them available for download only. In order to make them "viewable" from your website, you would have to convert them to a different format such as flash or possibly .AVI. This would require another piece of software in addition to or instead of P2E. Quote
