DenisS Posted March 28, 2023 Report Posted March 28, 2023 Hello Igor, I seem to have an issue with PTE AV Studio Pro 11 not working on my MacBook Pro after two OS updates recently. I have the following : Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro11,3 Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled Memory: 16 GB System Firmware Version: 478.0.0.0.0 SMC Version (system): 2.19f12 Serial Number (system): xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hardware UUID: F10570C1-ED94-54D9-B183-6D783ADCD425 Provisioning UDID: F10570C1-ED94-54D9-B183-6D783ADCD425 I have updated PTE AV Studio Pro 11 and also the recent V11.01, V11.02., v11.03 from the previous V10.5. I kept the version 10.5 on my desktop in case of any issues. All was running OK. About a week ago I updated to the latest version of Mac OS and Big Sur and found that PTE V11 is opening but only stays with no project visible and the spinning red, blue, yellow ball at the cursor position. I cannot access any menus and have to force quit PTE AV from the dock. It usually opens, when working correctly, with the last project and timeline visible. Stupidly I deleted v10.5 after the first Mac OS update, but managed to get it reinstalled and I tested it today and all with v10.5 was OK. V11 is still the same and not working. After doing this there is another MacOS and update to Big Sur today v11.7.5 and this is now installed. Strangely after this OS update v10.5 is now deleted from my desktop!!! PTE v11 is still not working and only the spinning colour ball is visible after opening. How can I record the crash log to send to you? Are you aware that PTE v11 could be affected by latest MacOS updates or is it just my machine? Any advice appreciated, Apps installed list below. Regards Denis PTEv11.pdf Quote
Igor Posted March 29, 2023 Report Posted March 29, 2023 Hi Denis, If I understood rightly your message you have 2 Mac computers, both with the newest Big Sur update. Right? I have a Macbook 12" with Big Sur and I updated it to the newest version 11.7.5 yesterday. On first glance, PTE 11 works correctly. Try the following solution: 1. Restart macOS. 2. Uninstall PTE AV Studio 10.5 and 11.0 (remove the App icon to the Bin). 3. Reset settings of PTE AV Studio on your Mac. Download the following special uninstaller and run it. For V11.0: https://files.wnsoft.com/pteavstudio/RemovePTEAVStudio.app-11-0.zip For V10.5: https://files.wnsoft.com/pteavstudio/RemovePTEAVStudio.app-10-5.zip Run this utility. Tick an option 'Reset PTE AV Studio configuration'. Confirm the uninstallation. 4. Install PTE 11 and 10.5 again from DMG package to Applications. 5. Run PTE AV Studio again. Let me know about results. Quote
DenisS Posted March 29, 2023 Author Report Posted March 29, 2023 Hi Igor, Many thanks for your prompt response to my problem. For the record I only have one MacBook Pro with the MacOS Big Sur update. I followed your procedure and all is now working perfectly and I managed to find the previous emails with the License Keys and reinstated those for each PTE version. I still don't quite understand how PTE AV Studio 11 got messed up, but life is too short to worry about that now that you have it fixed. Huge thanks for solving the issue and for your great software product. Warmest regards, Denis S 1 Quote
