I have prepared a simple PTE show with 20 slides that I change manually with the mouse. There is no background music as I simply talk through the show. However, when slide 6 comes on I would like it to trigger a short burst of music. When the music stops I would carry on talking. Can anyone advise how I can add just a single music track like this?

welcome to the forum.

maybe try this

make sure you save as and create as before you start

copy and paste the slide where you want the music

unselect show pict of the pasted slide - select customize slide and add music

- if you want to change the backgound do so

save as and create as with new names

you may have to diddle a bit

Hello TCG

I think you can accomplish this without Customising the slide.

The way I do this is to select the relevant slide from the slide list, then click on the folder icon on the right of the 'sound' row beneath the slide list and browse to open the required sound.

Hi The easy way to do this is to select the slide customisation music tab. add music for this slide and don't forget to check the "play new music box at top right. The music will play while the slide is on the screen and be stopped once you move on. It would be a good idea to have a small image file for this slide as this will help with a quick delivery of the sound file,

Thanks Alan,Ken and Limey. It's easy when you know how! My next problem is choosing sixty seconds of wild scary music. I have tried an extract from Stravinsky's "Rites of Spring" but it's not fierce enough. Any suggestions?

Best Regards,

Tom
