Ken Cox Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 SEEhttp://www.marmots.org/All about Marmots The Vancouver Island marmot is a uniquely Canadian species, found only on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It differs from other marmot species in behaviour, genetics and ecology and is easily identified by their unique appearance. KEN Quote
Michel Posted December 2, 2005 Author Report Posted December 2, 2005 Thanks for the interesting link.In my little presentation, we see french marmots .Two or three, easy to shot, but the most was very difficult (mothers): wait during one or two hours lying down."Marguerite" is a marmot living near the white glacier (Ecrins) and we find it on the footpath (2000m), very friendly when no much people are here: it's his name. The others of this slideshow live in high alps (also near 1800-2200m), but they are wilder and difficult to shot (only the morning, when no people are here). We have a little trick: to put a carrot or another vegetable and wait...(but no sugar, because they can dead). It's funny !
