Dear members!

It's very unpleasant to say about this problem, but it seems that some hacker(s) infected our forum. We temporarily

turned it off and will solve this problem together with Invision support.

I highly recommend you to check up your PC with antivirus (for example McAfee or Antivirus Kaspersky) with newest updates if you visited our forum 14th or 15th December.

Please excuse us for this problem.

Igor,

No problem! It didn't take you very long to get things back in service. :)

It must be frustrating for you though, to have something like this, especially when you are so hard at work on the new version of PTE.

How utterly frustrating and annoying some people with half a brain can be is way beyond comprehension.

I must say that I had no problems and would like to thank you for the speedy and professional way that you and your team handled the problem. there is no need for you to say sorry, that should be left for someone else.

again thanx for advising everyone to check their computors.

Igor,

My system got the infection, but I didn't really realize where it had come from until your message today. My Antivirus software picked it up almost immediately. Had it been immediately, I would have realized that I was just on the WnSoft forum. It didn't hurt anything on my PC.

As Igor recommends, please check your system right away if you don't have some type of Anti-virus software enabled to check in realtime on your PC.

Thanks Igor. We don't want you working on viruses, when there is a Beta to preview soon. How dare someone disrupt your development efforts. If the Beta slips, I'm sure no one on this forum will complain.

We're all looking forward to testing this new version of PTE 5.0!

Take care and happy holidays!

Also there is a wonderful antivirus program - AntiVir www.free-av.com (It's fully free for non-commercial use)

p.s. I very like first results with new graphical engine of v5.00, especially almost ready new Visual editor.

Dave

additonal info for you

http://us.mcafee.com/virusInfo/default.asp...&virus_k=130610

see

http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3873

as to what Ron first noticed

also the banner at top of page did not say wnsoft forum

it said microsoft update or words to that effect

one acquaintance that had mcafee running in the background had popup messages everytime he visted the wnsoft site -- he would run a full scan of the system remove trojan, revisit site and alarms again.

thus Igor took site down asap to get things resolved

my systems showed no trojan - guess the Romans didn't get to me:))

I was on the Forum when it happened, too, and I did not get any warnings from AVG. Just all of a sudden a blank page when I tried to access a thread.
