aplman Posted December 17, 2023 Report Posted December 17, 2023 The following sequence of actions has puzzled me. I open a PTE file using PTEAV version 11. I click on Project Options. I click on the Control tab, or other tabs, to visually check the settings, but I do not change anything. I try to close the file. Project file has been changed. Do you want to save it? I don’t want to save it, because I have not changed anything, and saving will affect the file time-stamp. I rely on file timestamps to help me stay organized. Seems to me there is a flaw in PTE somewhere. Expert advice please? Quote
davegee Posted December 17, 2023 Report Posted December 17, 2023 Hi Ken, This is probably not the answer you want but if you click on "Do not save" it does not alter the time stamp. DG Quote
aplman Posted December 18, 2023 Author Report Posted December 18, 2023 Thanks Dave. I reckon you can do better than that! In my experience, combined with some guesswork, I fear other experts are less likely to respond if they see there is already an answer. May I invite others to comment? Quote
Igor Posted December 18, 2023 Report Posted December 18, 2023 Hi, Yes, I observe this behaviour after opening and closing the Project Options. We'll check the code. It seems that PTE just sets a flag "Modified" on any opening of the Project Options. Quote

It seems that the same happens with the Slide Options Window. It also happens when you make some change and undo it, either in O&A or in the Main Window. So, the Undo Button shows that there has not been any change, but when closing the project you see window shown in davegee's message. Quote
