Guest damor Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 After having my system rebuilt ( what my pocket money could would let me do ) I now have an ASROCK MOTHERBOARD, with what I think is a NVIDIA GFORCE 6100 onboard graphics card. Am I correct in this assumption? If correct would I be better off with a seperate card. I dont seem to have much of a problem except for occational "sticking" during playback. could someone recommend a good card not too expensive? Thanks.Dave Quote

Guest damor Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Hey Ken,Thanks for that one! I have found that my guess wuz right.(GeForce 6100 display adapter) Do I need a "graphic card" or video card. I'm confused Dave Quote
alrobin Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Dave,They are one in the same. It seems that the main critical requirement in a video (graphics) card is the amount of on-board video RAM (128 Mb seems to be a minimum requirement, but 256 Mb would be better). Quote
Guest damor Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 Thanks for the info Al. I'm on the case and looking roundCheers.Dave. Quote
Igor Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Al,A little correction, 128 MB enough for ideally smooth playback of Pan/Zoom/Rotate effects. If don't use slides like 3400x2200 8 MPix and larger. Quote
