ADVISORY

In line with the 'New PTE.Beta-5' Program and its requirements and particularily for those who are

thinking of buying a 'New PC' ~ STOP ~ and review the requirements to upgrade your current PC,

it may be suitable to run 'Microsoft Vista'

The following 'Link' will bring you to the 'Microsoft News Release' of yesterday and will open the

'Upgrade Specifications Window' for Vista.

In particular Clk.on the Features Button and all will be revealed.

Enjoy...

I installed yesterday new pre-beta #2 build (for developers) of Windows Vista.

PicturesToExe v5.00 beta and slide-shows work fine there.

Good news, Igor! We knew you could do it! :):)

Looking forward to all the new features and enhanced capabilities!

Thank you Brian for the link and Igor for the info. I understand that Igor is focused on making sure Version 5 will work with Vista. Just to clarify - Is it correct that Vista will not "enable" any features or advantages of PTE Version 5 that will not be available in Windows XP?

The upgrade advisor is itself only a beta therefore don't expect too much.

For me it recommends Windows Vista Home Basic before I select what

features interest me most so I select the features & click Next at

the bottom of the loooooooooooooong screen & it appears nothing

happens but if one scrolls back to the top of the long screen then

they'll see "Upgrade Advisor is now checking......." & that's as far

as I got. You'd think after 30 min it could decide. FWIW my screen

is at 1280x1024 so if it's long for me I can only image how long a

scroll it'll be for some others. IMHO they ought to have a popup that

says now checking that disappears when it's finished checking & the

popup should NOT popup until I've made my choices."

To follow up on my previous Post concerning 'Vista Compatibility & Your PC' ~ hereunder ~

is a 'Link' describing the PC requirements for 'Vista' and it also describes in detail your

'Download Choices' when the Programs become available.

Hope this helps...

Robert,

We don't use specific functions of Windows Vista. So no difference.

The benefit that people will use Windows Vista. As you know Vista uses graphical card for new graphical interface (with shadows, translucency, etc) and it gives the next benefits for us:

- New model of drivers for video cards with potentially better reliability.

- Maximal attention of Microsoft to quality of video cards and drivers for them.

- All Vista ready PCs are perfectly intended for PicturesToExe 5

- Much more fast video cards in laptops (requirement of Microsoft).
