joe smith Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 I just compelted my first slide show. It consists of 44 JPEG images, no music, some titles. The exe file is 15.6 MB in size. The pte file is 17KB in size. Are these file sizes about right? How do you suggest I distribute the exe file? Email or put it on a CD-Rom and mail it? Joe Smith Quote
Ken Cox Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 too big for most mailersput it on cd as an exeadvise people to copy and paste the exe to their desktop to run it -- quite a few systems will not run it from the cdsearch forum for mail problemsand running from cdken Quote
thedom Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Hi joetexan,Your files sizes are perfectly right, pte files are tiny. That's the exe file which contains all your images, that's why it's big. If you want to reduce your EXE file, you can reduce the size of your images but if you reduce them too much, you gonna have a loss of quality of course. If you don't zoom on a picture, a 1024x768 size is enough. If you have an adsl connection, you can upload your file on beechbrook : http://www.beechbrook.com/upload/and then send an email to people with the link to your show. joe smith Posted July 17, 2006 Author Report Posted July 17, 2006 That upload feature in beechbrook looks interesting. I think I will try it. I noticed I have to make a slide that is 120 pixels x 80 pixels. Is it the first slide in the presentation? Or just a separate image slide? Joe Smith Quote
ronwil Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Just a separate image Joe. Some use the title slide resized as required. Take a look at the thumbnails of the downloadable sequences on the Beechbrook site and you will get the idea. Looking forward to seeing your first upload. Good luckRon [uK] Quote
