Aleina Show Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Hi Igor, Congratulations to your team and us, the users, on releasing a useful program! Its functionality is interesting. I really liked the implementation of slow motion with interpolation - it looks very smooth and beautiful. I have a question, will the video file editing link from this program be implemented in PTE AV? Import-export? Aleina 2 Quote
tom95521 Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Hi Igor, I have been testing it on my Mac mini and it works well. A few of my video stabilization tests. I think objects near moving water are difficult to stabilize and movement of bicycles during road construction. I will continue to test on my Mac. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLt3fALeAR4PXyvtVcaZhsp87LWUpZG7vX Thanks, Tom 2 Quote
nelson Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 This is perfect for my needs with PTE. Early experimenting with the program it functions well. Count me in as an early adopter. Kieron 3 Quote
nelson Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 I am curious about what settings Igor used in his demonstration of image stabilization. Not sure about the expand option. Thanks, Kieron 2 Quote

And additionally it will possible to use special keyframes to dynamically control video speed, even to pause a video for several seconds. We'll add a command to the popup menu for the File List in PTE 12 to convert one or several video files in PTE Video Optimizer. 2 Quote

Many thanks for sharing these excellent examples for video stabilization function in PTE Video Optimizer! Looks very convincing. I think this function can be very useful for old videos when cameras didn't have optical stabilizer, or it didn't work well. 3 Quote

I used "Strong" preset (for the city) and "Normal" preset (the flower). Expand = 0 for both cases. "Expand" option can be used together with the "Strong" preset if you still observe some undesired shaky motion in a picture. This option will crop some part of a video picture (edges) reducing undesired motion. I recommend to try Expand = 5...10% When you use "Strong" preset, the program analyzes 30/30 frames (forward/backward) for each frame to perform the optimal stabilization. 3 Quote
Alex55 Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Congratulations and thanks to the Team! This is absolutely the must addition to the PTE! So far just couple of questions: 1.Do we have to Import converted Video into the Project or it going to be somehow linked to the Video Optimizer and done while rendering the Project? 2. In order to compare the results it would be great to have Option to turn applied settings off/on momentarily. Once again thanks a lot. Great work! Hope we'll see more upcoming surprises Alex55 4 Quote
AleAle5025 Posted November 14 Report Posted November 14 Thank you to all developers for the Video Optimizer. The program is intuitive and simple. All control functions are working. Space bar to start and stop the video editor, as in PTE AV Studio, it didn't work for me. Good luck to everyone and success in improving PTE. 2 Quote

Space bar will pause/resume playback in next updates. Currently you can use Print/Break key on a PC keyboard. Or click left mouse button on a picture of the mini player. The same in PTE 11. Thanks for your feedback! 1 Quote

Do you mean PTE AV Studio project? Currently PTE Video Optimizer is completely independent app from PTE AV Studio. We plan to integrate both apps - it will possible to convert/optimize selected video files from PTE in PTE Video Optimizer. 8 hours ago, Alex55 said: 2. denisb Posted November 14 Report Posted November 14 Hi Igor, usually, I stabilize my video clip and increase the sharpness with another application. I try the same things with PTE Video Optimizer: The stabilize option seems to work well. The sharpness ( negative blur) has the same default as PTE AV Studio 11. The last line and the last column are brighter. I hope you will solve this in PTE AV Studio 12. Denis Quote

vbl2007 Posted November 14 Report Posted November 14 Thank you, Igor, interesting program! Quite a lot of settings! Saved a video with the same settings as the original - the file size decreased by 22 percent. Great! I support the proposal to view the old and new changes in the file. I did not find the ability to undo actions (Ctrl-Z). Question: when inserting a video from this program into PTE AV Studio, will there be further repeated improvement of the inserted video? Do I need to run the output MP4 file through this program after PTE AV Studio? 1 Quote

I want to write some my observations and suggestions on the first tests of the program. 1. I think it would be useful to add a display of the sound waveform in the video trimming field. Personally, I often trim the length of a video based on the sound, and this would significantly increase the usability of this tool. 2. I constantly have a bug with reverse playback. I have not yet fully understood the algorithm, but it is somehow related to changing the sound. For example, if I have reverse playback enabled and I check the "mute sound" box, the program freezes completely. 3. In this regard, I would like to see some function for saving already applied settings, especially since we can work with several files at the same time and do not want to lose already applied settings due to a program crash. Almark Posted November 16 Report Posted November 16 In the past, I have never shot any video. But, I will now, this looks great. 3 Quote

We plan to implement this a little later. We consider the Undo/Redo functions for the next major version. 3 Quote

Hi Aleina, 1. We consider to for future version. But I'm a little skeptical that this will be useful, because width of a waveform is very small (limited by a with of the video options panel), the peaks of the sound will be barely noticeable. 2. Reverse playback option. I'll reply in another thread today. 3. We plan to add some Save function for a Task in the future version. I agree that it would be very useful. Currently you can to open the Tasks window (click the "Show Tasks" button), find a finished task and click to edit it. So you can continue editing with all saved options. 1 Quote
Bert Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Hi Igor I tried your new video optimizer and of the color adjustments do the same as in PTE 10.5 for the still images. What I would like in an video optimizer is something what does the same as the "Highlight and Shadow Adjustments" sliders in Lightroom. I don't know if that could be done in Video files. 1 Quote

In current version it's not possible, sorry. You can only partially perform this editing. Your suggestion is very good and I've added it to my TODO list for PTE and Optimizer app. 3 Quote
Igor Posted Wednesday at 01:51 PM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 01:51 PM Hi, Thanks for your first impressions and suggestions to improve PTE Video Optimizer! We plan to release the first version in December and now we need some time to fix known issues, and also update our website for this new app. If you discover some problem, please let me know. You can post your suggestions and ideas for the next version of PTE Video Optimizer. 1 Quote

Aleina Show Posted Wednesday at 05:28 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 05:28 PM Hi Igor, Thank you to your team for such great programs and for listening to users! I have a long-standing dream of functionality that I would like to see in both PTE and Video Optimizer. This is the ability to copy at least such settings as color correction. There are always a lot of numbers, it is difficult to remember them, you always have to use a notepad to make similar settings in another file. In Optimizer, so that you can copy the settings to another file. Or make it possible to replace a file with ready-made, applied settings. I used to make suggestions for such functionality in PTE, so that you can copy NOT ALL, but certain settings to another keyframe, as well as to an object on another slide. And I was offered several options, such as making a copy of a keyframe or a copy of an object or a copy of a slide, but believe me, I know and use all of these methods, but they are far from suitable for all tasks. As a result of my projects, I get such sheets of paper in which I myself then get confused. Maybe someday... 3 Quote
