having lost my hard drive thinking I had saved the template for an av i find i havnt! is there any way to break down the exe to its components so i can reinsert a better audio. I doubt it but heh you can live in hope.

Ken thanks for your tip, i tried RestorePTE however it captures the whole slide. What i am trying to do is extract the pictures from the slideshow (lost the original images and only have the .exe). Is there an automated way (its 1000+ slides) to extract the pictures without having to do screenshots of everyslide?

think you need a decompiler program to break the exe

then is there a way to change the EXE to a power point presentation PPT ? which then i can extract the pictures from ?

As for your decompiler suggestion i am assuming it will mean i will have to extract the jpegs as they get loaded into memory right ? weeeh thats a lot of work !!

MY decompiler statement was only a guess, years ago it was brought up, but then was never mentioned again. Not polite to mention such things in public because in essence one is trying to take somebody's program apart

so guess you are stuck with screenshots

next time remember the old adage

Jesus and Satan were having an ongoing argument about who was better on

the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was

tired of hearing all the bickering.

So God sat Satan and Jesus down at the keyboards and they typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They E-mailed.

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets.

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs.

They did some genealogy reports.

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed

across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power

went off. Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse

word known in the underworld.

Jesus was silent Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them

restarted their

computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:

"It's gone! It's all GONE! "I lost everything when the power went out!"

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files.

Satan became irate. "Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair!

How come he has all his work and I don't have mine?"

God just shrugged and said:

"Jesus saves."
