Dusty
Some of you responded to my question regarding a sponsor show I was working on for a local festival. That show worked out great and the sponsors were well recognized. Now I'd like to share with you the actual festival! It's called the "Idaho International Dance & Music Festival" and has been going on in Idaho for 21 years. Three years ago, our local community had it brought here and I took some pictures for fun and gave them to the committee. Well, now I am on the committee and this has been my 2nd Festival as the official photographer. It's all volunteer and non-profit. I do get some name recognition, but that's not why I do it. It's a fun change of pace and a good thing for the community. I spent about a week and several long nights taking pictures, doing the post work, and getting ready for the next day. I did an AV show that played on the big screen behind the teams for the finale dance, which was comprised of photos taken that day and the day prior. That was hard. I also gave each team's director a DVD of hi-res photos from 2 days of festival, which totalled almost 600 pictures. The finale pictures and more are on the show I've posted online. I believe that forums such as this and International Dance Festivals hold the keys to world peace! You can read more about the festival and find show and gallery links on my blog at http://daydreamsart.blogspot.com or just download the show directly from here at http://www.daydreamsart.com/festival2006/f...val2006show.zip It is 22.7MB in size. Thanks!~Cindy

Again congratulations - keep up the fine work!!Best regards,Lin
Dusty
Thanks, Lin. I agree completely about the music. It was a pain. I did use Audacity, and that was the only place I could cut the song. I added more pictures so I could cut it there, but there was no room to fade it nicely because the music picks up and it sounded weird to me. Maybe that would have been better, though. I tried stretching the last word of that part of the song (changing tempo), but that didn't sound too good either.
LumenLux
Nice presentation Cindy. I especially like the way you composed the show. Your "farewells" at the end express well your message. That is the highlight as I view it. Your ability to get those shots shows the advantage of being an "insider" and knowing what to expect and capture.I read Lin's comment on sound before I viewed the show. I expected to agree with him. But having read your explanation and experienced the ending when viewing - I think maybe your solution works quite ok, maybe the best in this instance.Bottom line is you and your Idaho neighbors can feel good about it all. And I am quite sure your imported friends feel good too.
Ronniebootwest
Hello Cindy,What can I say? Brilliant piece of work (and not a pan or zoom in sight). After watching your show I felt good because the theme you used 'World Peace' was just perfect. I do agree with Lin though - the music was a little abrupt here and there.I am growing very fond of your work and watch out for it on the forum these days.Very well done!Ron West

alrobin
Dusty,I just watched your show, and enjoyed it very much - you seem to have captured and portrayed the spirit of the event very well. It must have been even more enjoyable to have been there in person. We need more events like this to counter all the grief there seems to be in the world right now.
