mhwarner Posted December 25, 2024 Report Posted December 25, 2024 Always looking for relatively inexpensive sources of royalty free music for my travel shows. Needless to say, there are not many decent ones out there that don't cost an arm and a leg. An advertisement kept popping up on my Facebook page for Melodie Music so I checked it out. They are listing a "Lifetime Creator's" license at a special price of $59 US. Before purchasing or even creating an account, you can browse (and play) their complete catalog of music through this link: https://melod.ie/browse#browse-page-results Couldn't find the sale price on their regular website so I contacted them for a link to purchase from my computer. It is: https://melod.ie/lifetime-early-bird-85-off. While I think the "Creator" license will be sufficient for my needs, there is also a "Pro" license that allows for use on multiple channels per platform, 3rd party content creation, stems, etc. And it is apparently possible to upgrade from one license to the other if you need to. To check out "international" type music for travel videos, just select the Genre "World" and search. And Merry Christmas to all of you! 1 Quote
goddi Posted December 26, 2024 Report Posted December 26, 2024 Greetings, It was cheap enough so I joined. Just not clear on the copyright issue. If the music is only uploaded to my personal FB or YouTube sites videos, are they expecting us to get a 'Generated License' that has to be added to the video? Just not too clear. It asks for 'Project Name' and 'Primary Production Type' and they give a 2 page license agreement that seems you have to keep track of...? I sent the question to them but no response yet. Thanks... goddi Posted December 26, 2024 Report Posted December 26, 2024 Greetings, I got a reply: "The ‘Generate Licence’ process is entirely optional, you are already covered under your subscription. " "Legally you are not required to attribute the music. Although it’s always appreciated if you can! It’s mainly there to generate “per track” licenses from time to time - especially for Pro and Enterprise plans - when creating content for third parties / clients, or whenever else a licence is needed as proof of purchase / licence." goddi Posted December 27, 2024 Report Posted December 27, 2024 Just as Mary posted, there is an 'early-bird-85-off' for the Melodie Music site. I wondered how long it would last. Here is their reply: "If anyone in the group is interested in purchasing a Melodie lifetime deal at the currently discounted prices, they can do so via this unique link (please feel free to share): https://melod.ie/lifetime-early-bird-85-off This promo will be available via that link for at least the next few weeks.
