Cliff Posted Wednesday at 04:01 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 04:01 PM This ought to be quite simple. I am often not sure which of my (many) similar pictures is the one I want to use although I know its name from prior editing work. Yes, you will say, the name is in the media thumbnails. No, only part of the name is in the media thumbnails, as my naming hierarchy yields long names. Yes, I can hit ctrl-I over the thumbnail and it will give me an info box. And, again, the box is too narrow to show the full filename without dragging out its right side to widen it. So, a slight PITA. So, what I am suggesting is to have a wider info box (or one with wrapping of a file name) that pops up, perhaps even when hovering over a media asset. Quote
jkb Posted Wednesday at 05:22 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 05:22 PM In Setting/Preferences/Toolbar you can set the Status Bar to show the File Name This will then show the full name at the bottom of the screen for both Filelist & Slidelist when you click on a Slide. So unless your names are exceptionally long you can see which is which. Or just save with a shorter name when editing, or put the identifier at the start Jill Quote
canaro99 Posted Thursday at 12:38 AM Report Posted Thursday at 12:38 AM Cliff, On most of my shows, I export photos as jpg (or whatever your personal preference is) to a "To Be Renamed" folder in my show's images folder. I then open this folder in Adobe Bridge (Free) where I manually sort my photos in the order I want and then then Rename them into the "Show Photos" folder. I select the option to retain the Original File Name in the metadata in case I need it later. While this sounds redundant or cumbersome, it makes it easy for me to quickly track a show photo. I developed this approach as I worked with many of Aleina's shows (look for Advanced Members). Folder structure (for me) Show Name Assets Music Images To Be Renamed Show Photos Template Photos (I've used this to save the template photos) Vids (I separate video files from photo files.) Output (I put my published files here and then copy them where desired.) John Quote
