FoxyMom
Basically what my question is what is the best media to use? I've used TDK DVD-R and it seems to work wonderfully. However, I've used the Memorex DVD-R with pritable surface and for every slideshow DVD I've burned with that media, the slideshow skips.I REALLY want a printable surface, so which is the best? BTW - I'm using ULead MovieFactory 5.TIA!Tami
Michel
An excellent product is here (I use it always now): http://www.tdk-lu.com/fr/product_extras/sc...hproof_info.php?.I had also some problems with DVD Memorex before. But also, some DVD TV readers have less performance and cann't read without problem some DVD. Guest guru
I never used TDK ScratchProof Dvd's, but I rely on the Michel's long experience. I primarily use Verbatim products, in my opinion the best manufacturer of CD's.Please avoid Memorex! I had too many problems with them. Nathan
I've tried a number of brands, including non branded from a computer stall at the local Saturday market. The latter became a hit and miss affair, my Pioneer A-06 writer would not even recognise some of them, result, a waste of good money. Finally bought some Verbatim, excellent value and never a problem disc, DVD+R/RW being my preference. FoxyMom
Thanks for the replies. I did try a Verbatim DVD-R this weekend (printable) and once again it skipped. So far, the only disk that I've never had a problem with is the TDK DVD-R (non-printable) My next step is to get a printable TDK DVD-R and see if that works. LumenLux
I have in the past used TDK Printables with good results. My question, is the label side, printable or not, actually a factor in anybody's results?

Guest guru
I used in the past Neato and Surething labels, with no problems (for now). But I don't rely very much on the glue... and a good label demands too much time to be designed, printed and applied.I agree with Nathan, for normal use I prefer a good marker pen (specific for this use). mhwarner
I have used the Memorex printable 16x DVD+ media with no problem whatsoever. I sell them to folks with all kinds of players and have never experienced any problems with burning them (on both Dell laptop and desktop DVD burners). Haven't had any coasters yet. I print the "labels" directly onto the DVDs with my Epson 960. Of course, I would never print on or otherwise label any DVD which I am using for archival purposes. For them, I write with a TDK CD market in the clear center circle only.

Tami,Obviously you are picking up too high an error rate on your burns. Have you tried reducing the rate (say to 2x)? Or, you may have to replace your burner.
