echelonphoto
I have five songs, some of which are longer duration than I need for my show. How do I get the songs to change when I want (before the actual end of the track)?
dagrace
If you search for the right keywords (like "Audacity") in this forum you'll see some other discussions about this. You are not the first person to have questions on this, believe me!
Ken Cox
FROM AUDACITYWed 01/11/2006 5:20 AMKENDeutsch? Espaol? Franais? Espaol? Italiano? Russky?--------> http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ <--------The Audacity developers have been busy with many new features over the past year. We're pleased to announce Audacity 1.3.2 (beta), which contains dozens of new features and capabilities. Because it is a work in progress and does not yet come with complete documentation or translations into foreign languages, it is recommended for more advanced users. For all users, Audacity 1.2.5 is a minor bug-fix update that addresses some problems with Audacity 1.2.4, but does not add any significant new features. It is complete and fully documented. You can have both Audacity 1.2.5 and 1.3.2 installed simultaneously. Also, we have just made available a set of 92 LADSPA plug-ins for Windows (for both Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x).Download Audacity now: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/See the 1.2.5 Release Notes for a complete list of changes and known problems in Audacity 1.2.5: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/release-notesSee New Features in 1.3 for information about the new beta version: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/features-1.3-a
alrobin
I have five songs, some of which are longer duration than I need for my show. How do I get the songs to change when I want (before the actual end of the track)? The music is played as you provide it to PTE. So, to get one selection to end sooner, you will have to truncate it in a sound editor such as Audacity or Audition, save it as an mp3 file, and re-add it to PTE. Or, better still, combine all your selections together in the sound editor as one long mp3.
echelonphoto
Thanks for the tip...I used audacity to make a mix of songs. However...for an idiot like me , it is not toointuitive...I had to open each song separately, cut out parts and then paste them into the main window. Is there and easier way to do an edited mix? thedom
I use Acoustica Audio Mixer which I think is VERY intuitive. Unfortunately, it's not a freeware anymore. There is a a "try version" avalaible on the editor's website : http://www.acoustica.com/mp3-audio-mixer/And if you like it, it's only $24.
