gpsmikey
Greetings all -- I did a search, but could not find an answer. Is there a way to get PTE to run on the second monitor in a "dual head" environment -- it wants to run in the fullscreen mode only on my primary monitor (the secondaryone is on a NTSC output from my Matrox card). Thishad been discussed before on the old forum with no clearanswer that I could find. I have tried clicking my heels together and standing on my left foot ... it didn't help.Thanksmikey
Tom K
Hi Mikey,I've fooled around with that a little myself and found that I had to make the NTSC output my main monitor. That way I was able to send the signal to a VCR and record my slideshow on tape for the benefit of my mom, who does not have a PC (and barely uses the VCR.)It's been a while since I did it but I seem to recall that I had to fool around with resolution settings as well. I'm using a GeForce4 Ti4200 with dual outputs, don't recall the brand. The TV picture quality was not great. Sorry to give a negative answer - maybe someone else is more clever than I (undoubtedly.)Tom
gpsmikey
Well, thanks -- I was afraid of that. Maybe Igor can put somethingin the next release that lets it run on a different monitor when youstart it .. a check box or something that allows you to select whichmonitor it runs on for those of us with dual heads (they always say"two heads are better than one ... Shooter
Hey Mikey,You'll find your answer at Realtimesoft.com with a product called "Ultramon".I've used this on dual head (crt monitor and lcd projector) for about 3 years. Up until Pics to Exec 4 it has worked perfectly. What ultramon does is allows you to create a shortcut on your desktop to open a show on monitor 2 - or - with the use of a self designated hotkey you can switch the show once it is running from one monitor to the other. With pics to exec 3.80 all was well. Pics to exec 4 will not open on monitor 2 although you can still switch it once the show is running. A blank slide at the beginning of your show would allow you time to switch it with the hotkey. I personally reinstalled 3.80 to solve the problem until I can figure out another answer. Good Luck - Shooter
